E-LEARNING-BASED TEACHING MEDIA THROUGH STORYTELLING FOR STUDENTS OF TEACHERS TRAINING FACULTY

This article discuses about digital storytelling as supporting materials for the e-learning portal in English department. It tells about the process to create a digital storytelling as teaching aid for literal listening subject. It has urgency to give contribution for the effective and fun English learning. Qualitative approach is used to analyze the data. The research started with collecting sources for creating the digital storytelling on stories entitled “Aunt Polly” and “”Tom Fight” by Mark Twain. It started from inventorying the teaching and learning stuff such as syllabus, lesson plan, software, and the digital contents of the storytelling made.  The researchers choose Audacity 3.5 Beta,and Windows Moviemaker 2.6,as the software for editing audio and creating video. The stories are made for improving the students listening skills either bottom-up or top down. The result of this research proves digital storytelling can be used in E-learning portal, such as Edmodo. The questionnaires result shows that digital storytelling is an interesting material, but need to be modified more in e-learning

Improving Student Motivation Optimizing the teacher's role as motivator

The motivation of learning has an important role in the achievement and performance of student learning. The facts on the ground shows that in general has been a decline of student motivation to learn. Given the importance of the role of motivation in the learning process, decreased motivation of student learning need to be immediately dealt with in order to get the improvement of the quality of the process and the results of student learning.

Therefore we should know how that can be done to improve the motivation of student learning.

The fact that the content of the curriculum and the interaction between the teachers and students contribute to the motivation of students to learn. The motivation of student learning is connected with the desire of students to participate in the learning process. In research done by Khamis researchers found that the interaction between teachers and interest of students in the subject matter and the level of difficulty of the task influence the motivation of student learning.

There’s also other factor that influenced student motivation such as : the support of the elders, interaction students - teachers, the influence of peers, learning environment,  students condition itself, the interest of the students in the material content, perceptions of students regarding the usefulness of the material and the level of difficulty of the task given by the teacher. In the process of learning the teacher has a direct effect on the motivation of student learning. Almost any activities that teachers do in the classroom provide the influence of the positive or negative impact on the motivation of student learning. How teachers create a learning environment that supports the needs of learning and growing interest in students to learn to give positive effects against the motivation of student learning.

The Role of Single Father in Child Education: A Study in Bengkulu

ABSTRACT
The divorce rate in various regions of Indonesia is getting higher year in year out. This is particularly worrying for the sake of nation and family wellbeing. Currently the fundamental issue is not about why the parents divorced but the most important thing is as to how the handling, care, or parenting for the children is given by the divorced parents. Family has an important role in child education, because children naturally acquire great influence from the family members at home, wherein those moments are as crucial and critical for them. Errors or failure in parenting, in terms of the provision of educational stimuli, would be fatal to a child’s life in the future. Built upon the background, this study aims to analyse the implementation of educational stimulation on children by single fathers who have been implementing single parenting pattern for more than four years. A case study with qualitative approach was employed in this study. This is an educational research that focused on the provision of educational stimulation by single parents in the main family, in situation which the father was the head of family that was unaccompanied by a wife. The data analysis was conducted by analysing the EMIC in triangulation and ethical analysis (interpretation) based on the analysis of the author associated with the relevant theory. The issues examined in this study were derived from the background cases of the imbalance in family units due to the lack of important or crucial figure in the main family. The data collection and data analysis resulted in seventeen responsibilities of parents to their children, seven educational methods to be applied, four moral education values in the family, and five educational tools to employ in family-based education.

Abstract

Community Library as one of the non-formal education programs in the framework of enlightening the nation as well as efforts to empower them with the development of literacy movements and community development of reading culture. Low interest in reading habit Indonesian society seen from the reading index something that only 0,001 in the sense that one thousand residents of Indonesia's just one person who has the high interest in reading. The phenomenon is still based on the public interest in Indonesia is influenced by external and internal factors. Therefore, in this paper will be examined what became the cause of the public interest at Community Library when examined from a variety of factors that occurred in Indonesia, obstacles faced in promoting the public interest in the Community Library. Factors that affect the public interest in the Community Library in Indonesia in general are socio-economic factors, technological developments, infrastructure and the individual itself. While the obstacles encountered in increasing public interest in income levels are relatively low, the cultural attitudes of society are easily satisfied, a tradition that conveys information through oral, limited infrastructure, rapid technological developments, a collection of readings that are less, the lack of legal action is firmly linked piracy of books, lack exemplary in foster interest in reading since early childhood.

Family education has a significant role in shaping the character, attitudes and behavior of children. parents knowledge about appropriate parenting for children is very important because of the role of parents is to nurture, guide and educate children. in family education for shaping the character, attitudes and behavior of children, children environment has to give good influence for children, so that children get used to things that are positive. 

For that reason enhancing parents knowledge about parenting and how the efforts of parents and their other family members in fostering a child to grow and develop excellent character become an major thing to learn. 

Study of family education can be developed from the concept of family education and the character of the child. family education provides education to enhance the development of moral and religious values, social, emotional, language, cognitive and motor development of children. these family education efforts in the years to encourage the growth of children. character formation of children should start from the family, because the family is the primary growth and development for children. then the need for family education to shape the character, because character of children depending on the environment and parents upbringing given to children

This research is motivated by the importance of the role of an educator in the education system, educators must have professionalism in teaching. For that needs to be studied more in depth how efforts should be made to enhance the professionalism of early childhood educators to include early childhood educators with the Basic Training so knowing how ECD management integration with the competence to enhance the professionalism of an educator. An educator can be categorized professional if they have indicators of competency professionalism of teachers as follows: 1). Always make concrete planning and detail that are ready to be implemented learners in learning activities; 2). Trying to change the old mindset into a new mindset that puts the learner as an architect builder of ideas and teachers to work to serve and act as a partner of learners so that meaningful learning events directly to all individuals; 3). Being critical and dare resist the will of the less instructive; 4). Willing to change the pattern of action in promoting the role of learners, teachers play and the style of teaching; 5). Dare to convince the school, parents and the community in order to favor the interests of learners who tend sulitditerima by lay people by using a logical argument and critical; 6). Be creative in developing and producing works of education. According to Siti Yati Mulyati and Aan Komariah, 2014: 9 efforts to do improve the professionalism of education by educating management understand and have four competency: 1). Pedagogical competencies; 2). Competency personality; 3). Social competence and 4). Professional competencies. By increasing the professionalism of early childhood educators it is hoped will generate future educators who will not play again as a teacher, but it will become a coach, mentors and managers learn.

Dampak Sosial Ekonomi Pembangunan Waduk Jati Gede (Studi pada Masyarakat Orang Terkena Dampak (OTD) Waduk Jati Gede Sumedang)

Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai dampak sosial ekonomi pembangunan waduk Jati Gede yang dilaksanakan pada masyarakat orang terkena dampak pembangunan waduk tersebut. Tujuan dari riset ini secara umum adalah memperolah gambaran mengenai dampak sosial ekonomi pembangunan waduk Jati Gede .

Teori yang mendasari pada penelitian ini diantaranya : Hakekat Interaksi Sosial, Hakekat Mobilitas Sosial dan Hakekat Keluarga.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kasus dengan  pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah  teknik wawancara, observasi, studi literatur dan studi dokumentasi.

Pertanyaan penelitian  yang  diajukan terdiri dari: 1) Bagaimana kondisi sosial psikologis masyarakat orang terkena dampak pembangunan waduk Jati Gede Sumedang? 2) Bagaimana kondisi pendidikan masyarakat orang terkena dampak pembangunan Waduk Jati Gede?, 3) Bagaimana hubungan keluarga masyarakat orang terkena dampak pembangunan Waduk Jati Gede? 4) Dampak sosial ekonomi yang dirasakan oleh masyarakat orang terkena dampak pembangunan waduk Jati Gede Sumedang?

Hasil yang diharapkan dari kajian  ini adalah: 1) Untuk memperoleh data tentang kondisi empirik mengenai sosial psikologis masyarakat atau orang terkena dampak pembangunan waduk Jati Gede Sumedang, 2) Untuk memperoleh data tentang kondisi pendidikan masyarakat atau orang terkena dampak pembangunan Waduk Jati Gede, 3) Untuk memperoleh data tentang hubungan keluarga masyarakat atau orang terkena dampak pembangunan Waduk Jati Gede, 4) Untuk memperoleh data tentang dampak sosial ekonomi yang dirasakan oleh masyarakat atau orang terkena dampak pembangunan waduk Jati Gede Sumedang

Impact of Parenting Quality in the Family to Children's School Readiness (Study at Bandung District)

This study aimed to described the impact of parenting in the family to the children’s school readiness. The study was motivated by a vision of the society that children’s school readiness is determined more by the involvement of children in early childhood education institutions, although the number of hours spent most of the children in their lives with the family. Therefore, this study aims to describe and analyze the various forms of care in the family and its impact on children’s school readiness. In particular the study analyzed; 1) the quality of education in the family who have early childhood; 2) the readiness of early childhood kindergarten children; and 3) the impact of varying quality education of children in the family to the school readiness of kindergarten children.

This Research conducted a survey of families who have young children (kindergarten) in Bandung by respondents as many as 378 families selected by the sampling area.

The study concludes that families provide a vital role building of children’s school readiness. This is shown by; 1) the quality of education in the family is affected by various factors such as; the work of parents, parents age, place of residence of parents, parental involvement in early childhood institutions, and perceptions of parents about their children; 2) children’s school readiness have different views from; age and place of residence, and 3) children's school readiness is significantly affected by the quality of care that occurs in the family.

Children is an important asset for the progress of a nation. Therefore, every citizen is obligated to follow the elementary education. So that the achievement of quality education and of course the quality of education must already meet the standard that has been established. lot of ECD Institutions in Indonesia which has not met the ECD implementation standards that have been set by the government. This can be seen from quality OF the infrastructure, the competency of educators and manager in ECD Education institutions which not adequate.

This paper will be focused on developing quality of ECD Intitution. The concept underlying the background comprises the concept of education, early childhood dann concept of quality management organization of early childhood.

In practice, the management of early childhood education requires a variety of management functions, which consists of planning, organizing, and monitoring. Wilyani (2015, pp.145-150).

The success of the implementation of ECD Education institutions Involves various parties namely the contribution of the parents in include his son from an early age on ECD Institutions, the professionalism of the educators and managers of ECD, controlling ECD supervisors.

USE OF MULTIMEDIA LEARNING TECHNOLOGY BASED GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE (GUI)

Teachers have various problems when implementing the learning in the classroom. Learning problems are caused because the teachers do not understand the characteristics of learners with learning content. Teachers should use modern technology tools that help them to solve this problem significantly. Many types of teaching aids have made the information and communications technology, or commonly known as multimedia. Multimedia means is one of the new technology is based on a computer program that can make a more complete media. It uses a variety of methods and reliable for education. Multimedia as a new product of modern technology seeks to involve all the senses, including visual, hearing and feeling. Multimedia can compare with other educational media, multimedia tools and methods are used to create good communication between teachers and learners during the learning process. Multimedia can improve attitudes, motivation and imagination of the students in the learning process. Data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) 2 way design with treatment by level 2x2. The results showed that: (1) there are significant multimedia design to learning outcome; (2) there is the influence of visual spatial intelligence to multimedia design.
