Adaptation Model to Improve Tutor’s Competence at Community Learning Center (CLC) in Banten Province

Community Learning Centre (CLC) is a place of various community for people to learn life skill. The community supports and empowers people to be more independence and build their local potential in building and developing their social, economy, and cultural backgorund. In this reasearch, the tutors in various CLC in Banten Province had got some trainings to improve their competence and independence through adaptation model. The purpose of developing this adaptation model is improving the tutors and participants’ competence. This adaptation model is implemented by adopting teaching and learning materials which involved some tutors with different background competence. The amount of the participants are 68 persons from CLC in Banten Province. This adaptation model is implemented some approches. Those approaches are unadapted participation general curriculum, adaptations to the reguler curriculum, embedded skills within the general curriculum, and some guidance for some short-term related goals (Foreman, 2005).
The result of the reserach showed that the participants’ competence during the trainings had reached 40% and considered very good, and 60% considered good. There was academic circulation during the training between tutors and participants, and between participants and participants. The participants’ competence in improving the independence of the learning community had changed and increased into 72%. The tutors of CLC can reach their competence and professional through adaptation model.
